Hello! After a minor glitch in the release schedule, my new chip-break EP "lol physics" is out! This was a super fun one to work on, combining chiptune sounds, breakbeats, and hand crafted algorithms into a frenetic four track nugget.
I wrote this EP during Weekly Beats which is an annual accountability community where artists write one song per week for a whole year. Participating in weekly beats was an artistic challenge and an absolute game changer in terms of getting a ton of music written. I made a video about my Weekly Beats process here.
The tracks themselves are a combination of procedurally generated melodies and drum tracks using algorithms that I built myself, and then live performance and mixing using effects which I also built using custom software and Pure Data patches.
The code was all written pre-AI so this is genuine hand crafted algorithmic rave music of yore. It was great fun working on this, and I hope you enjoy "lol physics".
